An Evening with Dave Kitson

The Reading FC Former Players' Association are proud to present an evening with Dave Kitson, on Thursday 1st March, at the Tilehurst British Legion Club. The evening follows on from a series of very popular events with current and former Reading players and managers. Past events have previously let fans put questions to Trevor Senior, Jamie Cureton, Jimmy Quinn, Mick Gooding, Glen Little and Brian McDermott, to list a few. This event with Dave Kitson seems certain to sell out so we advise tickets are bought early!

Dave Kitson will always be fondly remembered by Reading fans as part of the record breaking side that earned 106 points to top the Championship table in the 2005/2006 season. Kitson hit 18 league goals that season as Reading stormed into the Premier League for the first time in their history. He didn't stop making history there as he scored Reading's first ever Premier League goal as the Royals came from two goals down to defeat Middlesbrough in their opening top tier game.

Kitson's success as a Premier League footballer, particularly at Reading, is no secret and his record speaks for itself. Kitson's first spell at Reading, with 60 goals in 147 appearances, saw Premier League side Stoke City pay out 5.5 million pounds for the striker's services in 2008. His career saw him arrive at Reading from Division Three Cambridge United in December 2003 for just 150,000 - a price that was quickly recognised as a "bargain" by the Reading faithful. After time at Stoke City, Kitson made a welcome return to Reading on loan before continuing his career at Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Sheffield United and Oxford United.

Dave made a return to Reading last month to help celebrate 500 games at the Madejski Stadium and received a fantastic reception from the crowd. Now Kitson returns again to gives fans a great opportunity to meet him, and no doubt hear some fascinating stories about his career at the top level of English football.

Once again, the host for the evening is of course former Reading FC defender, and Welsh international, BBC Radio Berkshire's Ady Williams. Ady played alongside Dave when he arrived at Reading and the two former players will have plenty to talk about from their playing days together. Ady is sure to enjoy guiding the evening and provide some questions guaranteed to entertain the audience.

Tickets for the evening are on-sale now for £20, which includes entry and fish and chip supper. Doors and Bar opens at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. After a break for food, a question and answer session between Dave and the audience will get underway. Please book your tickets on the Association's website: http://www.readingfcformerplayers.co.uk/events
