The FPA say goodbye and thank you
Reading FC club Doctor Geoff Williams was given a send-off to remember by the Reading FC Former Players’ Association (FPA) before the recent home match with Burnley as he retires after 32 years of service.
Dr Williams was presented with a limited edition, cold cast bronze statue by the FPA in recognition of the work he had done at both Elm Park and at Madejski Stadium.
FPA chairman, Richard Wickson said, ’Most of our members have benefitted from Geoff’s expertise and advice over the years and many must be grateful to him in extending their careers’
The presentation was made by former player and FPA Vice-chairman George Friel (pictured above)and joined by a number of former players and FPA board members.
The doctor, who has attended more than 1,000 games, was also presented with a rare Football League long service award before the Leicester City match in April.
