Can you sponsor our man in the London Marathon?

Reading FC FPA board member David Woolford has taken up the challenge of running the London Marathon on April 26th.

David, 53, will be running the 35th annual London marathon in support of the FPA chosen charity Launchpad. He says, "I am much older than when I last ran the marathon 1988 and a lot slower!"

Reading based Launchpad is a charity that helps some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn their lives around and fulfill their potential.

They began by running a soup kitchen 35 years ago and were known as Reading Single Homeless Project until 2011. Today, they’re called Launchpad Reading. David, Chief Operations Officer at Woodley based engineering firm Magal Engineering Limited, has been a Board member for over a year and has volunteered his time to represent the FPA in a number of former players’ welfare initiatives such as XPRO and the University of Nottingham’s research study into the ‘Risk of Osteoarthritis in Professional Footballers’

David is hoping to run the 26 miles and 385 yards in a time of 4 hours 30. Watch out for David. He’ll be wearing a Reading FC shirt!

If you feel you want to sponsor David you can go to his Just Giving page at http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/davidwoolford

Or you can make a donation directly to Launchpad by going to www.launchpadreading.org.uk/donate/
