Mick joined Reading as an amateur in 1958. A product of Reading's Youth set up. He turned professional in 1959. Initially a left half, Mike was moved to the left wing where his powerful shooting and ability to score spectacular goals twice put his scoring record into double figures for League goals.

From 1962/63 mick spent four years as a first teamer but lost his place in early 1966 and joined Portsmouth on a free in 1967. In all he played 153 games for the "Biscuitmen", scoring 36 goals

At Portsmouth he made 74 outings before joining Aldershot for the memorable 72/3 season where he made a valuable contribution to the Shots promotion campaign playing 30 times. Joined Basingstoke Town at the end of the season.

Although retired, he still acts as Scout for WBA.
